Senior Database Administrator

As a seasoned database administrator, you will be responsible for the installation and configuration of Microsoft SQL Server instances. This involves defining backup strategies, managing database access security and integrity, and ensuring physical data storage design.
With prior experience in cloud services and PaaS Database components, you will participate in continuous process improvement on MS SQL server both On-Prem and Cloud platforms. You will also be responsible for configuring and maintaining SQL Security controls, making recommendations for system architecture, and managing disaster recovery planning.
- Responsibilities include creating, changing, and improving SQL Server Agent tasks and maintenance plans to ensure optimal performance.
- You will troubleshoot application sluggishness and poor performance, as well as handle basic activities on other relational database engines.
- Additionally, you will be responsible for big data ETL into SQL Server, integrating SQL Server with corporate applications and other database platforms.
The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in writing T-SQL, PowerShell, and other necessary programming languages. Experience with Integration services and SSIS package ETL is also required.
Key Skills and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in RDMS and MS SQL server administration
- Extensive knowledge in database design, implementation, and conversion
- Knowledge of PowerShell and Unix shell scripting
- Experience with SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS
- Excellent writing and verbal communication abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail
- MCSE/MCSA certificates preferred
- Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server infrastructures
- Extensive knowledge of database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB)
