About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team for a long-term engagement with a global leader in asset management and financial services.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in test automation, backend validation, and CI/CD integration in a BFSI environment. They will collaborate with stakeholders during requirement gathering to understand business and functional needs, translate product requirements into effective test scenarios and test cases, and lead discussions independently to clarify requirements and data dependencies.

This Senior SDET will work closely with development and product teams to identify and resolve issues, contribute to test strategy and planning for new features and enhancements, and maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business and functional needs.
  • Translate product requirements into effective test scenarios and test cases.
  • Participate in business requirement discussions and translate them into actionable test strategies.
  • Lead discussions independently to clarify requirements and data dependencies.
  • Work closely with development and product teams to identify and resolve issues.
  • Contribute to test strategy and planning for new features and enhancements.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.
  • Exposure to automation frameworks is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clarity in requirements and data dependencies.
  • Perform functional automation, assist with unit testing, API testing, security testing, DevOps and performance testing, and stress test activities.
  • Identify ways end-users and consumers will work with the software and help create the best experience possible for the intended user by identifying areas needing continued adjustment.
  • Performing performance, functional, and regression testing.
  • Preparing and maintaining test reports.
  • Mentoring the team in automation design, best practices, and implementation.
