Fashion Merchandiser Job Description

Location: Goregaon, Mumbai

Working Hours: Monday to Saturday

We are seeking a skilled Fashion Merchandiser with expertise in Indian ethnic wear to oversee the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience in a similar role, a deep understanding of market trends, vendor management, pricing strategy and a passion for our brand's aesthetic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market & Trend Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify upcoming fashion trends, color palettes, and seasonal demands within the Indian ethnic wear segment.
  • Collection Planning: Collaborate with the design and production teams to develop and plan new collections that align with the brand's vision and target customer.
  • Product Development & Sourcing: Oversee the entire product development process, including fabric sourcing, trim selection, and sample coordination, ensuring all materials meet quality standards.
  • Inventory & Sales Management: Analyze sales data and inventory levels to forecast future demand, plan production schedules, and ensure optimal stock availability.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective production.
  • Pricing Strategy: Assist in developing pricing strategies that balance market competitiveness with profitability.
  • Quality Control: Work closely with the production team to monitor the quality of garments throughout the manufacturing process, from raw material to final product.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience as a Fashion Merchandiser, with significant exposure to Indian ethnic wear.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using merchandising software.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
