Senior Ecosystem Migration Specialist

About the Role:

Streamlining Application Transitions

This key individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing the smooth transition of critical systems from a .NET environment to a Java-based ecosystem within the banking sector.

With extensive experience in both .NET and Java development, coupled with profound domain knowledge in the banking sector, this expert will design, implement, and oversee migration strategies ensuring data integrity and minimising disruptions to business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Migrating .NET Applications: Lead technical design and implementation of migration strategies ensuring seamless transitions and maintaining data integrity.
  • Architecting Java-Based Solutions: Design robust and scalable Java-based solutions adhering to industry best practices and security standards within the banking sector.
  • Identifying Migration Challenges: Conduct detailed analysis of existing .NET applications to identify migration challenges, dependencies, and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Collaboration and Code Reviews: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure successful project delivery. Engage in code reviews to maintain code quality, performance, and adherence to architectural guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Software Development Expertise: 8+ years of experience in software development with strong exposure to large-scale applications.
  • .NET and Java Expertise: Expertise in both .NET (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core) and Java (Spring Boot, Microservices, J2EE).
  • Large-Scale Application Migration: Proven experience in leading or significantly contributing to large-scale application migration projects from .NET to Java.
  • Banking Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of banking domain concepts including financial products, regulatory compliance, and security considerations.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge on REST APIs, SOAP services, ORM (Hibernate/JPA), event-driven systems (Kafka, MQ), relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), migration tools, version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines.
  • Methodologies and Skills: Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies including Agile/Scrum, excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Security Protocols: Knowledge of security protocols (OAuth2, JWT, SAML, TLS).
  • DevSecOps and Automated Testing: Experience with DevSecOps and automated testing frameworks.
  • Data Migration Strategies: Familiarity with data migration strategies, API gateways, and legacy system integration.
