Job Summary

A construction estimator is responsible for preparing comprehensive cost estimates and offering expert guidance on building economics, tendering procedures, and contract arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed capital cost estimates
  • Offer advice on building economics, tendering procedures, and contract arrangements
  • Develop and draft contract packages including recommendations for amendments to standard forms
  • Prepare pricing documents for tender packages
  • Provide guidance on tendering procedures
  • Draft instructions for tenderers
  • Establish tender evaluation criteria
  • Compose PQQ questionnaires
  • Evaluate commercial aspects of all tender submissions and negotiate with tenderers
  • Determine amounts due to contractors for price variation
  • Ascertain the validity of claims
  • Compile and provide monthly Cost Reports
Requirements:
  • Hold a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree or possess equivalent experience
  • Have a strong understanding of QS & cost management processes
  • Be a Chartered QS registered under a recognized organization
  • Demonstrate IT literacy and proficiency with MS Office
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and ability to work rapidly and accurately under pressure
  • Be able to coordinate with other staff and departments across Global offices located in the US
  • Display organized self-motivation and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently
