Senior Economist Position

The position of Senior Economist involves conducting in-depth research and analysis, focusing on the Indian market across various policy spectrums and macroeconomic indicators.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining econometric models to forecast future trends and risks.
  • They will analyze macroeconomic data, both historical and forecasted, to identify economic trends and themes.
  • Additionally, they will monitor and assess global economic developments and their potential impact on markets.
  • The Senior Economist will also be responsible for writing and publishing research commentaries to accompany data analysis and discuss market drivers.

Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in Economics or a related field, such as MBA or CFA.
  • 2-4 years of post-qualification work experience as an Economic Analyst, Macro Strategist, or Junior Economist with a focus on modeling work and research analysis.
  • Strong quantitative and mathematical skills, with experience working with large amounts of data.
  • Advanced Excel, VBA analytical skills, and knowledge of econometrics are required.
  • Working knowledge of Python or R is an added advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write research reports and comment on market developments.
  • Familiarity with database tools, such as Macrobond, CEIC, World Bank, CME, and other financial databases, is necessary.
  • Prior experience in macro research or equity research in Indian markets is desirable.
  • The ideal candidate should be able to deliver accurate work under tight deadlines and manage multiple research projects independently.
