Job Overview:

This role involves working with global teams to develop and maintain mainframe systems, focusing on the CICS environment.

The successful candidate will have strong technical skills and a deep understanding of system configurations, resource definitions, and dependencies.

They will also possess excellent problem determination skills and be proficient in working with high availability environments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Performing CICS software upgrades and administration tasks
  • Providing 24/7 technical support to ensure system availability
  • Analysing new versions of CICS for performance improvement and cost reduction opportunities
  • Tracking and analysing system performance and resource utilisation
  • Recommending changes and enhancements based on technical analysis
  • Resolving problems and participating in incident management activities

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in installing and customising mainframe CICS software
  • 5 years of experience with CICS plex and CICS Explorer
  • Solid understanding of resource definitions and dependencies
  • Experience with Omegamon, Fault Analyzer, and dump analysis skills
  • Experience in cloning and sunsetting CICS regions
  • Basic understanding of CICS security with RACF
  • Exposure to working with SMF 110 records
  • Strong problem determination skills
  • Proficiency in working with high availability environments

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Programming skills in COBOL, PL/1, C, REXX, and Assembler
  • Experience with debugging application abends
  • Experience with design, configuration, and supporting critical applications
  • Experience with MQ and DB2 administration and operations
  • Degree related to Computer Science or IT
