Mainframe Lead Job Overview

As a seasoned professional, you will oversee the design and implementation of complex COBOL programs and subroutines, driving efficiency and innovation in our systems.

You will be responsible for architecting and managing efficient JCL scripts for batch operations, while optimizing and enhancing CICS applications for performance and scalability.

Maintain database schemas in DB2, ensuring data integrity and performance, and mentor junior developers, setting coding standards and best practices.

Participate in system integration, testing, and deployment phases, analyzing system architecture to propose improvements or new designs.

Technical Requirements

Demonstrate advanced knowledge in COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2, with experience in mainframe performance tuning tools like CA tools or IBM's tools.

Proficiency in debugging complex issues using tools like XPEDITER or InterTest, understanding of mainframe security, including RACF or ACF2.

Ability to handle large-scale data processing and ETL on mainframes, knowledge of interfacing between mainframe and other systems (like web services).

Skills in change management and source control for mainframe environments.
