Mainframe CICS/MQ System Programmer Position

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Mainframe CICS/MQ system programming and a proven track record of providing technical support and guidance on planning, coordination, installation, implementation, and testing of CICS and related ISV products.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide direct technical support as needed for the planning, coordination, installation, implementation, and testing of releases, upgrades, or changes to CICS and related ISV products.
    • Capable of Upgrading/Installing and Migrating CICS Transaction servers.
    • Upgrading/Installing and supporting IBM & ISV related Products.
    • Primary on-call support for CICS and associated ISV products.
    • Diagnose CICS system and related product issues and follow up with root cause analysis.
    • Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and tests as scheduled.
    • Knowledge about the CICS functionality and architecture.
    • Experience in CICS transaction server, related ISV products.
    • Install, test, configure and implement mainframe WMQ and associated system software while maintaining a stable operating system environment for business applications.
    • Perform WMQ system backups and recovery.
    • Monitors system activity for performance and availability and where necessary, tune accordingly.
    • Perform problem diagnosis and resolution.
    • Create, maintain and use automation scripts for MQ for z/OS monitoring, alerting and problem determination and resolution.
    • Design and Implement security aspects related to Mainframe MQ.
    • Architect/Design Clustering, workload balancing in client environment.
    • Troubleshoot Infrastructure and Application issues related to MQ.
    • Evaluate and recommend changes to current and future system software requirements to meet the organization's needs.
    • Ensure documentation of all related operational processes and procedures.
    • Install and upgrade MQ for z/OS using ShopzSeries and SMP/E.
    • Troubleshoot MQ problems using MQ command line and monitoring tools.
