Loopworm is at the forefront of recombinant protein production innovation. Our novel LoopBac platform leverages insects as miniature bio-factories, a paradigm shift from conventional cell culture methods. This cutting-edge technology enables complex protein production at significantly reduced costs and timelines.

We are on the cusp of a groundbreaking achievement and seek an exceptional Bioinformatics Scientist to spearhead our R&D efforts in this area. You will report directly to the VP of R&D and serve as the central point of expertise across multiple domains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Protein Production Optimisation Team: Provide DNA, gene, or protein sequence insights for any new protein of choice, coordinating with contractual gene synthesis partners for gene sequence validation and codon optimization.
  • Genetic Engineering & Molecular Biology Team: Support comparative genomics and virus–host interaction studies to enhance the platform.
  • Downstream Process Optimisation Team: Advise on recombinant protein–host protein interactions, protein tagging, and purification strategies.
  • QA/QC & Assay Team: Recommend appropriate kits, antibodies, and assays through protein–protein interaction studies.

  • Promoter & Enhancer Sequence Identification and Prediction
  • Viral Vector Stability and Sequence Optimization
  • Post-Translational Modification (PTM) Mapping in Novel Insect Host
  • In-Silico Screening for Expression Bottlenecks
Requirements
  • PhD/Master's: in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
  • 5 Years: hands-on experience running bioinformatics pipelines for Protein/DNA analysis.
  • Expertise in genetics, genomics, proteomics, and protein modeling databases.
  • Preferred coding background in Python, R, Perl (or similar), with ability to adapt and work with outsourced software developers.
  • Experience in protein sequence analysis, codon optimization, and comparative genomics.
  • Familiarity with AI tools in bioinformatics (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple teams.
