Key Bioinformatics Role

We are seeking an expert in bioinformatics to join our R&D team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience running pipelines for protein and DNA analysis, as well as expertise in genetics, genomics, proteomics, and protein modeling databases.

The successful candidate will work closely with multiple teams to drive bioinformatics initiatives and provide DNA, gene, or protein sequence insights for new proteins of choice. This includes collaborating with the Protein Production Optimisation Team to optimize recombinant protein production and working with the Genetic Engineering & Molecular Biology Team to enhance the platform.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide sequence insights and coordinate with contractual partners for gene sequence validation and codon optimization.
  2. Support comparative genomics and virus-host interaction studies to enhance the platform.
  3. Advise on recombinant protein-host protein interactions, protein tagging, and purification strategies.
  4. Recommend appropriate kits, antibodies, and assays through protein-protein interaction studies.

  • Codon Optimization for Novel Insect Host Expression.
  • Promoter & Enhancer Sequence Identification and Prediction.
  • Viral Vector Stability and Sequence Optimization.
  • Post-Translational Modification (PTM) Mapping in Novel Insect Host.
  • In-Silico Screening for Expression Bottlenecks.

Requirements:

  • PhD/Master's in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in running bioinformatics pipelines for protein/DNA analysis.
  • Expertise in genetics, genomics, proteomics, and protein modeling databases.
  • Preferred coding background in Python, R, Perl, or similar languages.

Preferred Tools/Platforms:

  • Sequence Analysis & Databases: NCBI, UniProt, Ensembl, KEGG, PDB.
  • Genomics & Alignment: BLAST, Clustal Omega, MUSCLE, MAFFT.
  • Protein Modelling: AlphaFold, Swiss-Model, PyMOL, Chimera.
