Senior PostgreSQL Developer

V2 Retail is seeking a seasoned Senior PostgreSQL Developer to enhance our IT team's capabilities. The role involves overseeing large-scale database management, developing efficient SQL scripts, and leading database-driven projects. You will collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to ensure robust data performance and availability across all systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers for optimal database functionality.
  • Apply indexing, query tuning, partitioning, and caching strategies to optimize database performance.
  • Design scalable data models, schemas, and structures for enterprise-grade systems.
  • Sustain ETL processes, data migrations, and enterprise integrations.
  • Maintain database stability, backup, recovery, and security protocols.
  • Analyze performance bottlenecks and troubleshoot database-related issues.
  • Collaborate with IT, BI, analytics, and business teams to provide data solutions.
  • Lead database-related projects and mentor junior developers on best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL Developer or Database Engineer.
  • In-depth expertise in PostgreSQL optimization, performance tuning, and high-volume data transactions.
  • A strong foundation in database design principles: normalization, indexing, and partitioning.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and managing data pipelines.
  • Understanding of data governance, compliance, and data privacy regulations.
