Compliance and Risk Specialist

A leading organization is seeking a seasoned Compliance and Risk Specialist to join its team. As an integral member of the Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) department, this individual will be responsible for implementing GRC systems for clients related to policy compliance, security requirements governance, and risk management.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and participate in the implementation of client initiatives focused on reducing technology risk, improving governance, and ensuring compliance with policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate business and IT risks to identify potential threats and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop and implement IT security standards, procedures, and controls to manage risks and improve client security positioning through process improvement, policy automation, and continuous evolution of capabilities.
  • Evaluate information security threats and their impact on clients' IT environments, providing recommendations for remediation and mitigation.
  • Support senior team members in analyzing requirements and designing clients' information security postures, as well as legal, regulatory, and scheme security requirements.
  • Assist senior team members in delivering work streams for clients in compliance standards such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, EU GDPR, and Bahrain PDPL, as well as incident management disciplines.
  • Perform and investigate internal and external information security risk and exception assessments, assessing incidents, vulnerability management, scans, patching status, secure baselines, penetration test results, phishing, and social engineering tests and attacks.
  • Document and report control failures and gaps to stakeholders, providing remediation guidance and preparing management reports to track remediation activities.
  • Stay current on best practices and technological advancements, acting as a technical resource for security assessment and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned based on business requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in IT Governance, Risk & Compliance.
  • Understanding of ISO 27001, PCI DSS, ITIL, ITSM, and COBIT standards preferred.
  • Experience with risk management principles and associated methodologies.
  • Ideally, a CEH, CISSP, CISA, or CISM qualification.
  • Proven ability to make sound pragmatic decisions and judgments under tight timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to influence and drive change in a collaborative way both internally and externally.
