Job Overview

This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of packaging approvals between global Ford plants. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing shipping containers to maximize CBM utilization in transportation, and developing innovative ideas for packaging styles and materials based on industry updates.

Key responsibilities include simulating packaging designs using a packaging design oriented tool, identifying the best packaging for each part, and implementing standardized processes. Additionally, the candidate will drive environmental packaging solutions to reduce carbon footprint and liaise with suppliers, plant packaging, and purchasing functions to complete on-time package sign-off.

Responsibilities
  • Design shipping containers to maximize CBM utilization in transportation
  • Benchmark NA, EU, and IMG plants packaging
  • Simulate packaging designs using a packaging design oriented tool
  • Identify the best packaging for each part and implement standardized processes
  • Drive environmental packaging solutions to reduce carbon footprint
Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a degree in Engineering or a related field, with 3-5 years of experience in packaging development and implementation. Proficiency in Ansys, CATIA, CAD, and packaging material selection knowledge is required. Additionally, the candidate should have working knowledge of Pack assist or similar packaging software, and hands-on experience with MS Office.

Able to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment, excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. The candidate should also be flexible and able to travel to other countries as needed.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in packaging development and implementation
