Marine Diesel Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Diesel Engineer to join our team at Goltens in Mumbai. The successful candidate will have expertise in diesel engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul for marine, offshore, and power generation industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform thorough inspections, installations, repairs, upgrades, troubleshooting, and overhauls of diesel engines.
  • Maintain good knowledge of slow, medium, high-speed diesel and gas engines, as well as 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.
  • Communicate effectively with superiors for briefing on service-related works.
  • Prepare comprehensive service reports, ISO work instructions, and checklists for all works.
  • Maintain the workshop, plant equipment, tools in good order, and adhere to good housekeeping practices.
  • Ensure all testing and monitoring equipment/instruments are identified and maintained in good order at all times.
  • Document activities carried out in line with ISO standards and company requirements.
  • Interpret drawings, manuals, and code specifications.
  • Liaise with customers, class agents, and other involved parties during repair projects from sales/enquiry stage through to completed project.
Requirements:
  • Techncial qualification, ITI/Diploma preferred.
  • 2-5 years' experience in the Marine/Offshore/Power Generation Industry with knowledge of 2-stroke & 4-stroke engines.
  • Adequate computer literacy and CAD operating skills an added advantage.
  • Fluent in English and local language speaking and report writing.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and demonstrate analytical, planning, execution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a good team player attitude.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is ₹700,000 - ₹1,200,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including professional development opportunities and a collaborative work environment.
