Oracle Database Administrator Role

Description

This challenging role involves managing and overseeing the performance of databases across various teams. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Grid Installation and Upgradation, with a strong focus on Oracle RAC, Performance Tuning, Dataguard, and Golden Gate.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Expert-level understanding of Oracle database architecture is crucial for this position.
  • The selected individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, storage administrators, network administrators, system administrators, and business users to resolve performance issues.
  • A deep understanding of Oracle RAC, encompassing its complexity across servers, OS, network, and storage layer, is essential.
  • Experience with Oracle Engineered systems, such as Exadata, SSC box, and ExaCM, is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in SQL tuning skills and ability to refactor SQL queries for improved performance is necessary.
  • The successful candidate will be able to diagnose performance issues from SQL to application to database to system to storage.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, traversing infrastructure layers to diagnose issues, are required.
  • HA features expertise of Oracle database is essential.
  • A thorough understanding of Oracle database's backup recovery options is necessary.
  • The ability to work under pressure in production environments with databases on all flavors of OS is vital.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 18 years of experience is mandatory.
  • Prior working experience in Telecom or BFSI companies is highly desirable.
  • Mandatory skills include RAC (Installation, Upgradation, and Management), Database backup and recovery, DB Migration and performance tuning.
