Mainframe Development Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned Mainframe Developer to fill a key role in our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Design, develop, and maintain complex mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
- Develop and execute advanced DB2 SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance-tuned programs.
- Analyze business requirements and prepare technical designs to implement solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in batch and online processing systems.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and system testing.
- Provide Level 2/3 support for critical production incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for application migration, modernization, and DB2 upgrades.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS).
- Strong experience in DB2 SQL queries, stored procedures, performance tuning.
- Knowledge of file handling, utilities (SORT, IDCAMS, IEBGENER, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with End-to-End SDLC analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Experience in production support (incident, problem, and change management).
- Good understanding of batch scheduling tools (CA-7, Control-M, or equivalent).
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of Rexx, IMS DB/DC, or MQ.
- Experience in modernization/migration projects (Mainframe to Cloud or distributed systems).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices (Git, Jenkins, JIRA).
