Database Engineer Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Database Engineer to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of our enterprise data platforms, primarily Snowflake and SQL Server. This role will bridge operational support and future-focused engineering by maintaining the integrity of existing systems and designing pipelines that enable scalable, cloud-native infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and optimize existing database technologies (Snowflake, SQL Server).
  • Troubleshoot and improve query performance and schema design.
  • Build and manage data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse Analytics.
  • Conduct proactive monitoring, health checks, and performance tuning.
  • Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to modernize the data platform.
  • Ensure SLA compliance and effective incident/change management.
  • Show flexibility in working with clients across multiple time zones.
  • Deliver production support for databases and data pipelines, handling incidents, performance bottlenecks, and schema-related changes.
  • Monitor database health and proactively address alerts, ensuring high availability and reliability.

Requirements:

  • Strong expertise in Snowflake, SQL, and data warehouse design principles.
  • Experience with Azure SQL Database, Synapse Analytics, and Data Lake.
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with incident/change management tools like JIRA.
