Architectural Designer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Architectural Designer to join our team. As an integral member of the project team, your role will be to generate ideas and advise clients on technical design considerations throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Your expert technical knowledge and skills are necessary to the successful outcome of the project from pre-schematic phases through to construction services. With emphasis on architectural design, technical data, and processes, you will work closely with designers to ensure design integrity is maintained at all stages of the project.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with senior designers and other design staff to troubleshoot and provide technical solutions for design challenges
  • Review engineering and MEP consultant's work to ensure compliance with design solution and timely submission of documents
  • Respond to RFI's and RFQ's
  • Ensure adherence to set standards and immediately inform the project manager and client of any potential variances
  • Execute drawings for tender, drawing detailing, and construction documentation
  • Create a master log of project submittals
  • Ensure design complies with all applicable building codes and standards, helping other designers to take these restrictions into consideration during design phases

Job Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should be motivated by delivering complex projects with minimal conflict or revisions. You will be excited to mentor junior staff, sharing your expertise on technical coordination aspects of a project. Importantly, you must be confident in your ability to communicate robust technical knowledge as you collaborate in a team of varying creative professionals.

Qualifications & Key Competencies:

  • 4-5 years experience working in a workplace design and/or architecture firm in a similar capacity
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related (Master's preferred)
  • Experience with entire project lifecycle
  • Portfolio of technically complex corporate designs
  • Able to quickly and readily generate concepts for workplace environment using advanced skills in a variety of software tools
  • Possess strong architectural design and planning skills
