As a skilled textile designer, you will leverage your artistic skills and technical knowledge to create innovative digital designs for fabrics and garments.

About This Role
  • Create original fabric manipulation techniques, embroidery, and textile designs, including patterns, prints, weaves, and innovative materials.
  • Develop color palettes and experiment with dyeing techniques, laser techniques, and mixing of other materials.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design Development:
    • Develop unique textures and patterns for fabrics and garments.
    • Research trends in fashion, textiles, and consumer preferences.
  • Material Selection:
    • Choose appropriate fabrics and materials based on design requirements and functionality.
    • Sourcing sustainable or innovative materials is required.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or CAD (Computer-Aided Design) is necessary.
    • Understanding textile production processes, including weaving, knitting, printing, and dyeing, is also required.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with the overall vision.
    • Collaborate with marketing teams to understand target audiences and market trends.
  • Prototyping and Sampling:
    • Develop prototypes and samples to test designs.
    • Make adjustments based on feedback and production feasibility.
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure that the final textiles meet quality standards and design specifications.
    • Address any issues during production.
  • Sustainability and Innovation:
    • Explore eco-friendly materials and sustainable production methods.
    • Stay updated on new technologies and innovations in textile design.

To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong sense of color, pattern, and texture, along with proficiency in textile design software and understanding of fabric properties. Additionally, you must have a keen eye for fashion and textile trends, ability to predict and adapt to changing consumer preferences, and strong interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
