Job Description:

The role of Senior Software Engineer I is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the development of innovative technology solutions that drive business goals.

You will work closely with a Technology Manager, using your experience and knowledge to guide a team of Engineers through their day-to-day process, and provide a central escalation point for production concerns.

As a Senior Engineer I, you will bring a high level of technical knowledge as well as strong mentoring abilities. You will be counted on as a leader in your technology space as you contribute to all areas of development and operations (pre-production to production).

You will be part of an Agile production release team and may perform on-call support functions as needed. As a Senior Engineer I, you would be a primary caretaker of production systems and would maintain a deep understanding of how delivered products are functioning.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Software Architecture preferred; candidates with substantial and relevant industry experience are also eligible
  • Overall Experience 10 + Years
  • Exceptional technical skills, a keen eye for design, and excellent communication abilities, with the capacity to work autonomously in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • 6+ years of experience with Angular / AngularJS.
  • 6+ years of experience in HTML, CSS, and writing cross-browser compatible code.
  • Solid understanding of AJAX, JavaScript, and the Bootstrap framework (2+ years experience in Bootstrap).
  • 6+ years of experience with RESTful services.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks (basic experience, e.g., Cypress).
  • Hands-on experience implementing complex Angular applications, directives, controllers, and services.
  • Hands-on experience with Gitlab/Github and working with CI/CD workflows
  • Ability to learn, understand, and work quickly with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management abilities.
  • Capacity to work in a distributed team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Main contributor in Agile ceremonies
  2. Provide mentorship and facilitate engineering training for a team of Engineers
  3. Perform and delegate engineering assignments to ensure production readiness is maintained
  4. Work closely with global teams to ensure deliver effective technical solutions.
  5. Conduct research to aid in product troubleshooting and optimization efforts
  6. Conduct research to guide product development and tools selection
  7. Provide an escalation point and participate in on-call support rotations
  8. Actively monitor key metrics and report on trends
  9. Participate in our Engineering Community of Practice
  10. Contribute to engineering automation, management or development of production level systems
  11. Contribute to project engineering design and standards verification
  12. Perform reliability monitoring and support as needed to ensure products meet guest expectations
