Environmental Health and Safety Manager

As a Sustainability and EHS Professional, you will play a key role in driving innovation in the field of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to ensure the long-term sustainability of our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Support project managers in achieving EHS objectives by conducting risk assessments and implementing appropriate measures to control risks.
- Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response plans at the project level to ensure timely implementation.
- Ensure that subcontractors' EHS activities are under control, particularly where interfaces are involved with other contractors or operational areas.
- Have the authority to stop any operational activity posing an immediate high risk to people or the environment.
You will assist, coach, and assess EHS teams in the project and projects, collaborate with social and medical partners, and communicate with them about EHS. Provide EHS support during project execution, perform audits of EHS plan implementation during the execution phases of projects managed from the Project, and monitor compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual, and company requirements.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of the Project, monitor historical pollution and associated risks, develop the project EHS communication plan, prepare and implement an EHS training program with the support from HR, and establish and communicate REX reports in case of severe or potentially severe accidents.
Prepare and submit regular EHS reports, feed EHS Teranga reporting system in line with Group reporting requirements, and be accountable for data quality of the Project and associated projects.
