About the Role

As a senior leader in our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the scale and growth of our design operation from India. This includes leading a team of designers across 5 studios in India, managing complex client engagements, and fostering collaboration with global teams to deliver best-in-class outcomes.

We are looking for a seasoned design professional who can drive design quality, craft, and practice while evolving our service offerings and value propositions to clients. Your strategic thought leadership will help shape our organization's reputation globally, particularly in India.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead Design Operations: Drive the scale and growth of our design operation from India, including team management and client engagement.
  • Design Quality and Craft: Enhance overall competency of the team, create award-winning work, and establish India studios as peers in quality outcomes to all other global studios.
  • Evolving Service Offerings: Develop new models for designing closer with clients and technology teams, ensuring our propositions align with key market trends.
  • Strategic Thought Leadership: Provide guidance on internal and external events, build WongDoody's reputation, and engage with C-suite clients.
  • New Business Strategy: Guide proposal strategy, concept creation, and presentation delivery to drive higher-value design outcomes.
  • Cultivating Relationships: Foster relationships with new and existing clients, uncover opportunities to apply strategic thinking and creative craft.
  • Performance Assessment and Mentorship: Evaluate team performance, provide career guidance, and make performance decisions for senior members.
  • Talent Attraction and Retention: Help attract top talent to the studios, maintain hiring standards, and ensure the highest quality of outcomes.
  • Global Collaboration: Work with global CXO, regional counterparts, and heads of New Business to evolve best practices and refine models for engaging talent.
  • Accountability and Studio Environment: Oversee project teams' work, assume accountability, and build a studio environment where each member can grow and thrive.

Qualifications

">
  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience; 7+ years leadership/management experience of teams of 50+ designers.
  • A background in the agency world or running large-scale teams for startups and organizations in-house.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes.
  • Mastery in Product Design, Service Design, User Research.
  • References from clients, team, and peers about the outcomes achieved and your leadership style.
  • Proven experience building aligned connections regionally and globally as a respected leader in the design community.
  • Highly proactive with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working on developing and launching new growth areas for clients, and/or applying design to areas such as culture change and strategy.
