Logistics Operations Director

This position oversees and manages the company's logistics and supply chain operations, focusing on managing transportation, warehousing, distribution, and inventory to ensure cost efficiency, timely delivery, compliance with regulations, and high service levels to customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, manage, and monitor all inbound and outbound logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, to achieve optimal results.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods to internal and external customers through effective transportation management and warehouse control.
- Oversee warehouse efficiency, inventory control, and storage optimization to minimize costs and maximize productivity.
- Develop and implement logistics policies, procedures, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Optimize logistics costs through vendor negotiations, route planning, and load optimization to enhance profitability.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce lead times and enhance efficiency in logistics operations.
- Monitor and control logistics budgets to ensure alignment with financial targets and optimize resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry requirements related to logistics, transport, and import/export.
- Implement safety standards in logistics and warehousing operations to protect employees and stakeholders.
- Lead and supervise logistics staff, warehouse teams, and drivers to achieve operational excellence.
- Manage and evaluate third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight forwarders, and transporters to ensure quality service and cost-effectiveness.
- Build strong relationships with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders through effective communication and stakeholder management.
- Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Warehouse Management System (WMS), and Transportation Management System (TMS) for logistics planning, execution, and reporting.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. They should have 10+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management, preferably in the medical devices or pharma industry. Strong knowledge of supply chain management, transportation, and warehousing best practices is essential. Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills are also required. The candidate should be proficient in ERP, WMS, and MS Office applications, and have strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
