Supply Chain Coordinator

Job Description

The Supply Chain Coordinator plays a critical role in overseeing end-to-end supply chain functions. This includes production planning and control, plant sourcing, warehousing, logistics, and scrap management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning & Scheduling: Align material availability with the production plan to ensure zero downtime. Collaborate with production, sales, and central planning teams for demand forecasting and capacity planning. Monitor daily and weekly production plans and adjust schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Procurement & Supplier Coordination: Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables. Coordinate with central procurement and approved vendors to track purchase orders, delivery timelines, and quality compliance.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. Monitor stock ageing, non-moving inventory, and initiate timely disposal or consumption plans. Ensure regular physical stock audits and reconciliation with system records.
  • Warehousing & Logistics: Oversee inbound and outbound logistics to ensure OTIF deliveries. Manage warehouse operations, space utilization, and storage safety. Ensure proper documentation, dispatch scheduling, and coordination with transporters.
  • Cost & Process Optimization: Identify and implement initiatives to reduce logistics, inventory carrying, and procurement costs. Drive process improvements using lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methodologies. Track and improve key SCM KPIs like inventory turnover, delivery accuracy, and material yield.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with company policies, EHS norms, and statutory regulations. Conduct regular training and audits to uphold safety and operational standards. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing plant SCM team.

Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate should have a Graduate degree in Engineering, Science, or Commerce (MBA or PG in Supply Chain preferred). They should have 12-20 years of relevant experience in supply chain or operations management in a manufacturing setup. They should also have strong understanding of production planning, MRP, logistics, and warehousing practices. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools is required. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills are essential.
