Enterprise Linux Systems Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive systems engineer to manage our enterprise-grade Linux servers and environments.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.) across production, staging, and development environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, configure, and monitor Linux-based systems (bare metal, virtualized, and cloud instances)
  • Ensure system uptime, performance, and security through routine maintenance and hardening practices
  • Automate repetitive tasks using Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar tools
  • Handle patch management, software upgrades, and kernel tuning
  • Setup and manage services like Apache/Nginx, MySQL/PostgreSQL, DNS, DHCP, SSH, NFS, etc.
  • Implement and monitor system backups, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Monitor logs and system health (using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Nagios)
  • Collaborate with DevOps and development teams for CI/CD integration and container support (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Apply security best practices (SELinux, firewall rules, fail2ban, auditing tools)
  • Support in incident response and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) for system failures
  • Participate in on-call support rotation if needed

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of experience in managing Linux servers and environments
  • Strong knowledge of Linux fundamentals (file systems, permissions, processes, etc.)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Good understanding of security principles and practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
