Job Opportunity

We are seeking a diligent professional to assume the role of Internal Control Specialist. This individual will play a pivotal part in ensuring the efficacy of our internal controls over financial reporting.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Performing control testing as part of our Control Monitoring Program to provide reasonable assurance that our internal controls are designed and operating effectively.
  • Adequately applying Company policies, procedures, accounting standards, and seeking advice as necessary. Evaluating the implications of new information or events and making decisions in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing key business processes to evaluate risk and test internal controls, identifying opportunities for best practices and improvements. Understanding data integrity concepts to maintain and assure the completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Determining alternative solutions to problems, evaluating courses of action, and relevant areas of risk/opportunity, and reaching sound business decisions.
  • Documenting accurate, logical, and detailed workpapers that clearly describe review objectives, test procedures, and results, and conclusions reached using internal audit methodologies, procedures, and standards.

This role also involves:

  • Developing and understanding the SOXHub Tool (AuditBoard), including its use for work responsibilities.
  • Demonstrating clear, concise, and respectful written and verbal communication skills, ensuring messages are targeted appropriately to the needs of the audience.
  • Identifying control exceptions, applying criteria for evaluating, and drafting results timely. Collaborating with the team to develop creative recommendations.
  • Promoting teamwork and developing cohesiveness in achieving organizational objectives. Adjusting to changing schedule priorities and multitasking.
  • Supporting and monitoring controls remediation efforts. Focusing on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assisting in training new team members on controls. Seeking coaching opportunities.
  • Meeting deadlines and milestones for assigned projects.

To be considered for this position, you should possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, or related field preferred.
  • Understanding of US GAAP, GAAS, Sarbanes-Oxley, COSO framework, and leading business practices.
  • 1 year of relevant experience, either within the Big 4 Audit Firm or in a multi-national organization.
  • Prior experience within Risk & Compliance or Internal Control role, finance experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office skills, primarily Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Energetic, self-starter, and strong focus on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to multitask and demonstrate strong organization skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
  • CPA required, other certifications preferred.
