Land Acquisition Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned land acquisition professional to join our team at a prominent advisory services firm.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and acquiring suitable land parcels for renewable energy projects in Maharashtra, ensuring technical feasibility, connectivity, and regulatory clearances.
  • The individual will lead the end-to-end land acquisition process, including scouting, negotiation, documentation, registration, and handover.
  • A key aspect of the role will be building and maintaining relationships with local landowners, agents, revenue officials, district-level authorities, and government departments.
  • The selected candidate will conduct title due diligence and ensure legal sanctity of land through coordination with legal teams.
  • Responsibilities will also include overseeing Right of Way (RoW) acquisition, mutation, land conversion, and compliance with state-specific renewable energy policies.
  • The specialist will ensure clear documentation, including agreements to sale, lease deeds, power of attorney, and land maps.
  • Additionally, the candidate will monitor local land price trends, zoning regulations, and state incentives to secure cost-effective deals.
  • Supervising a field team of land officers, surveyors, and external consultants is also a key responsibility.
  • Conflict resolution and mitigation of any legal or community-related land acquisition issues will also fall under the purview of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the land acquisition process from start to finish.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders.
  • Conduct due diligence on land titles.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the acquisition of rights of way.
  • Coordinate with legal teams to ensure the legitimacy of land acquisitions.

  • Address potential conflicts and take steps to mitigate risks.
