The Role of a Retail Operations Leader

Job Description:

This leadership position is pivotal in driving business growth, operational efficiency, and team development across a cluster of retail outlets within a designated region. The successful candidate will be responsible for spearheading strategic planning, executing initiatives, and fostering a positive work environment that encourages growth and reduces attrition.

To achieve this, the Area Business Manager will focus on maximizing profitability, driving sales through enhanced customer engagement, and strategically managing operational costs. They will also lead change management initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and team adoption of new processes, technologies, and customer engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
  • P&L Management: Maximizing store profitability by working closely with the business team to hit revenue and cost targets.
  • Change Management Leadership: Spearheading business strategic initiatives and change programs, ensuring smooth transitions and team adoption of new processes.
  • Employee Retention & Development: Recruiting, developing, motivating, and retaining high-performing store teams, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Customer Experience & Retention: Delivering an unparalleled customer experience across all stores, focusing on educating customers about personalized plans, driving strong customer engagement, and retention.
  • Performance Reporting & Insights: Analyzing key performance indicators and operational data, generating comprehensive reports, and providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • SOP Adherence & Operational Excellence: Ensuring strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, maintaining consistent brand standards, visual merchandising guidelines, and operational efficiency.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Working closely with the business team to implement national strategies at a local level, providing valuable market feedback, and contributing to the continuous evolution of the retail model.
