Senior Financial Accountant

The role of Senior Financial Accountant will provide an opportunity to expand your skills in financial accounting, analysis, and reporting. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries, and reconciling balance sheets.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger in accordance with US GAAP by accurately processing transactions and preparing manual journal entries.
  • Code vendor invoices and schedule payments using an intelligent accounts payable platform.
  • Review payroll reports from the provider, prepare journal entries, and process bank transactions.
  • Record customer invoicing and payments using a dedicated application.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, prepaid, accruals, capital assets, and deferred revenue.
  • Understand and project cash timing differences between the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
  • Review and analyze excel files containing general ledger data, payroll, revenue, and other data.
  • Respond to inquiries from employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Support annual tax preparation and GAAP audit processes.
  • Assist with reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or related field with 2-3 years' experience. Public accounting experience is a plus. A certified public accountant (CPA) or chartered accountant (CA) is highly preferred.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge and experience applying US GAAP principles.
  • Experience working with accounting systems like QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, ZOHO, or similar platforms.
