Financial Leadership Role

A Financial Leader of Operations should:

  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, accounting, internal controls, and compliance with regulations.
  • Main responsibilities: cost optimization, financial reporting, team management, and serving as a finance partner to senior leadership by providing strategic financial insights.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Manage and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to drive business decisions.
  • Accounting and Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and preparation of insightful financial reports for executives.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Establish robust internal controls and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, corporate policies, and internal SOPs.
  • Cost Management & Efficiency: Optimize financial operations, enhance cost efficiency, and provide analysis for costs and variances.
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks and act as custodian of the organization's risk register.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Coordinate with auditors and stakeholders, and provide financial information and insights to senior leadership.
