The role of a Financial Planning Specialist is crucial in supporting project and operational finance activities. This position involves managing project budgets, financial forecasting, invoicing, revenue tracking, and vendor payment processes while ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and internal policies.

Key responsibilities include preparing project budgets, cost baselines, and financial forecasts in alignment with business objectives. It also entails tracking budget vs. actuals regularly and flagging variances early with actionable insights. Collaboration with project managers and stakeholders is necessary to optimize cost allocation.

In addition, the Financial Planning Specialist will support the Finance team in raising invoices for client projects, track receivables to ensure timely payments from clients, manage vendor payments and software subscription payments using Zoho, and maintain accurate records of SOWs, WOs, MSAs, and NDAs for all projects. The role also involves tracking billable vs. non-billable resources to ensure accurate project costing and overseeing timesheet management for consultants to ensure timely submissions.

Furthermore, the Financial Planning Specialist will estimate future revenue and cost projections based on sales pipeline and current utilization, provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making, and prepare periodic reports on utilization, profitability, and project financial health.

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA/CA/ICWA preferred). Four to seven years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, or project finance are required. Strong knowledge of invoicing, revenue recognition, and vendor payment processes is essential. Proficiency in Zoho Books/Zoho Projects or similar financial/project management tools is also necessary. Excellent skills in MS Excel (financial modeling, projections, variance analysis) are required. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
