Project Management Specialist Role

The Project Management Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring effective management and monitoring of project finances, schedules, and performance. This position is responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting on the project's financial status, performance metrics, and ensuring timely delivery within budget.

  • Develop and maintain the project budget, allocating financial resources accurately.
  • Prepare regular financial reports for project managers, senior management, and stakeholders, including cost forecasts, earned value analysis, and financial performance metrics.
  • Monitor project spending, track variances, and report on budget status regularly.
  • Assist in establishing cost control processes and procedures for the project.
  • Track project expenditures, highlighting discrepancies or budget overruns.
  • Work with project managers to implement corrective actions to mitigate cost overruns or delays.
  • Monitor and report on project progress against established schedules.
  • Assist in preparing project schedules and identifying key milestones and deadlines.
  • Assist in identifying potential risks and issues related to project cost and schedule.
  • Maintain project data, records, and documents related to costs, schedules, contracts, and other project controls.
  • Track and analyze project performance metrics, identifying issues or concerns.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Master's in Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in project control, financial management, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, cost control, and scheduling.
  • Experience working in a project-based environment, preferably in construction, engineering, or large infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in project control software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Power Bi).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
