Job Overview

This is a challenging role that involves overseeing strategic initiatives for multinational corporations, focusing on mergers and acquisitions.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in tax planning strategies for global clients, evaluating opportunities for expansion into India, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

They will also be responsible for managing cross-functional teams to achieve optimal results, advising clients on negotiating transaction terms, and devising practical approaches to resolving complex issues.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead teams to ensure successful execution of projects, adherence to regulatory requirements, and maximum tax efficiency.
  • Support clients throughout their business lifecycle by conducting detailed analysis and managing seamless project implementation.
  • Ideate tax planning options for multinational clients and evaluate opportunities for expansion into India.
  • Manage end-to-end regulatory compliance processes for acquisitions and coordinate the implementation of subsequent mergers and consolidations.
  • Plan tax due diligence work and advise clients on negotiating transaction terms and documents.
  • Devise practical approaches to resolving complex issues and conduct comprehensive reviews of business operations.
  • Support senior colleagues in tax planning and management of assignments.
  • Assist in researching estimated service costs and man hours required for projects prior to pitching.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with CFOs and Tax Directors to create a high-quality professional network.
  • Identify and ideate leads from public and private sources and constantly evaluate feasibility of new opportunities.
  • Devising and supporting senior colleagues to prepare pitch proposals for client meetings.
  • Build credibility and deliver high-quality solutions while building rapport with senior colleagues' clients and key stakeholders to ensure repeat business.
  • Acquire industry insights to improve current services and develop content for networking in external events and seminars.
  • Share knowledge acquired from external forums with team members and regularly update Knowledge Management database with new updates.
  • Represent and endorse expertise at various external forums.
  • Interact with peers and build a high-quality network in the industry.
  • Provide guidance to the team to enable them to deliver on assignments.
  • Identify and point out challenges so that they can be overcome quickly with solutions and support team members to resolve challenges/conflicts.
  • Connect with team members on a regular basis to ensure the assignment is closed within agreed timelines.
  • Track team performance and share continuous feedback.
  • Assess individual and team performance on closure of the assignment and share feedback and learnings with the team.
  • Create a learning environment and encourage people to leverage each other's strengths and deliver high-quality, consistent performance.
  • Review available information and assess the data/documents required from the client.
  • Research and scrutinize all aspects of the assignment with the team to ideate and provide optimal solutions.
  • Support senior colleagues by drafting memorandums/opinions and reports.
  • Build client relationships and develop strong understanding of the client's requirements and the business.
  • Scrutinize Notice/Orders and share inputs with senior colleagues for further steps.
  • Draft appeals for review by senior colleagues and attend hearings.
  • Attend hearings/submission of appeal and proactively update the client on a regular basis regarding assignment development.
  • Ensure all facts & research are recorded securely.
