Urban Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Urban Development Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of urban landscape initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of urban landscape projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct site visits and gather data to inform project planning and design.
  • Assist in the preparation of design concepts, presentations, and reports related to complete street projects.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and consultants, to ensure effective project implementation.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating community consultations and workshops to gather valuable feedback.
  • Conduct research on best practices in urban landscape design and complete streets, supporting project development.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate project outcomes and inform future initiatives.
  • Prepare project documentation, progress reports, and presentations.
  • Assist with the logistical coordination of project-related events and activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in urban planning, landscape design, or project coordination.
  • Solid understanding of urban planning principles and sustainable development practices.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, GIS) is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for creating vibrant and accessible urban spaces.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with government agencies and NGOs.
  • Experience in conducting site audits and surveys.
  • Knowledge of complete streets design principles.
