Job Summary:

The Mass Retail Distribution Head oversees the development and implementation of a comprehensive mass distribution strategy, working in collaboration with the Sales Head. This role is responsible for driving growth in terms of revenue and market share while ensuring adherence to quality standards and corporate policy guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in distribution, preferably in the Telecom/FMCG/Mass Retail Distribution industry, with a proven track record of leading multi-geography teams and managing channels with diverse partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Provide input to the overall circle sales strategy to drive profitability and set targets for the Distribution channel, encompassing business and distribution KPIs.
  • Sales Performance: Deliver sales targets for all products through ongoing monitoring and reviews of the Distribution channel.
  • Channel Development: Develop a channel expansion strategy by evaluating distribution coverage, penetration, and performance.
  • Product Launch: Plan new product launches in the distribution channel with the circle Sales and Marketing Heads.
Operational Excellence
  • Distribution Network: Achieve circle revenue targets for the distribution channel for all products across brands and expand the distribution network by appointing and monitoring partners in new and existing areas.
  • Partner Management: Provide input to the Sales Head in deciding COCA/incentive plans for channel partners and monitor their implementation.
  • National Initiatives: Implement national initiatives at the circle level.
  • SIP Targets: Plan and monitor SIP targets along with the SEM Head.
Developmental Focus
  • Talent Development: Identify development areas and recommend training programs/interventions for distribution manpower.
  • Training Programs: Collaborate with the SEM team to develop training programs for internal sales teams and distributors for all new products and initiatives.
  • Performance Improvement: Identify team members not achieving desired SIP targets and provide guidance and mentorship where required.
  • Best Practices: Share best practices within the circle and other circles.
