System Engineer Role

 

We are seeking an accomplished System Engineer to spearhead our cloud infrastructure.

 

This pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and reliable systems.

 

  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure, including instances, buckets, virtual private clouds, databases, and functions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system operation and implementation of high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Develop and monitor automation scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of resources.
  • Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and implement improvements to optimize resource utilization and cost efficiency.
  • Implement security best practices and compliance standards to safeguard environments.
  • Administer company SaaS platforms to enhance user productivity, focusing on tools like Okta and AWS Workspaces.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in cloud environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

 

Tools and Technologies:

  • Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Proven hands-on experience supporting the Okta SSO Platform.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and technologies, including TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, and routing.
  • Familiarity with monitoring platforms such as Data Dog, Orion, Nagios, and WhatsUp Gold.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools (e.g., ECS, EKS) is a plus.
