Middleware Administrator Role

Job Overview:

Middlewares play a vital role in the functionality of software applications. They act as a bridge between systems, facilitating communication and data exchange.

In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of middleware applications, including their security, patching, and upgrades.

You will collaborate closely with OEM and application teams to manage releases, monitor resources, and perform backups.

Additionally, you will be responsible for managing downtimes, performing health checks, and ensuring the overall performance of middleware services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general middleware tasks such as patching, hotfixes, SSL administration, log file rotation, and more
  • Manage and communicate with OEM regarding application monitoring and VA open points
  • Monitor resources based on tool capabilities, including infrastructure resource monitoring
  • Manage DR activity, application management on DR, and middleware security patches
  • Perform middleware release updates, upgrades, and installations
  • Deploy middleware and application components, and manage application downtimes
  • Conduct performance and health checks of middleware services, and ensure server certificate management
  • Perform non-production refreshes and maintain application uptime

Requirements:

  • Experience in middleware administration, preferably with knowledge of various middleware products
  • Strong understanding of system administration, networking, and security concepts
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
