As a vital member of our organization, the Category Lead plays a crucial role in analyzing market dynamics and competitor strategies to drive category objectives.

Category Strategy

This individual will be responsible for developing short-term and long-term plans to achieve category goals, including driving category topline, bottom-line, and geography-wise market share.

  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage product lifecycles, including new product introductions, line extensions, and product discontinuations.
  • Opportunity Identification: Identify opportunities for 360° category development by understanding the offering gap and headroom for the category.

Collaboration with agencies and marketing communication teams is essential to drive effective advertising, promotions, and trade marketing campaigns.

Category Development & Product Premiumization

The Category Lead will be responsible for driving product development and innovation initiatives based on market insights and consumer demand.

  • Collaboration with R&D and technical teams for product positioning and innovation.
  • New Product Requirements: Identify new product requirements for the category and improvement in the product category.
  • BTL and Digital Strategy Execution Compliance: Drive BTL and digital strategy execution compliance.
Market Insight

This role involves engaging with key stakeholders to understand their requirements and generate insights for any new developments.

  • Market Dynamics and Competition Strategies: Understand market dynamics and competition strategies, and prepare proactive plans to stay ahead of competitors.

The Category Lead will work closely with sales teams to optimize category performance and develop more solution-centric offerings for users/customers to solve their problems.
