Accounts Payable Analyst

Job Description:

  • Process both PO and Non-PO invoices in a timely manner adhering to company procedures.
  • Investigate aged payments, debit balances, and resolve queries/disputes.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders for payment approvals and authorisation.
  • Review and check supplier master data, including opening and amending supplier accounts.
  • Handle a high volume of email queries and respond within agreed time frames.
  • Respond to telephone queries in a professional manner.
  • Reconcile direct debit accounts when necessary.
  • Set up one-off payments with relevant banks.
  • Release approved purchase orders to the business.
  • Improve processes to reduce manual work.
  • Ensure audit controls are strictly followed.
  • Prepare weekly and process multi-currency payments for UK and EMEA entities.
  • Conduct month-end accruals, analysis, and investigation.
  • Reconcile company credit card programs.
  • Check HMRC for latest employee expense claim guidance updates.
  • Provide cover during team member absences.
  • Participate in projects impacting Accounts Payable.
  • Communicate regularly with Global Accounts Payable team and Credit Control General Ledger.
  • Assist in training and testing for new systems.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within role responsibilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Accounts Payable experience in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and financial systems.
  • Experience using MS Word, Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, simple formulas).
  • Account reconciliation experience.
  • Self-motivated and flexible.
  • Good communication skills for effective communication at all levels.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong command of spoken and written English.
  • Team player.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Background in finance functions of a European technology company.
  • Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365 experience.
  • Shared Service Centre experience.
