Job Title: Purchase Manager

At our organization, we seek a seasoned and skilled procurement expert to oversee the acquisition of raw materials, mining equipment, spare parts, consumables, and contracted services for operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Procurement: Develop and execute procurement strategies tailored to the minerals and mining industry, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Vendor Development: Source, negotiate, and finalize contracts with local and international suppliers to ensure timely supply of mining-related consumables.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and logistics costs to achieve cost savings and optimize procurement processes.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure effective inventory planning in coordination with operations and warehouse teams, minimizing stockouts and overstocking.
  • Sustainability Practices: Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, reliability, pricing, and delivery timelines, while ensuring all purchases comply with safety norms, environmental regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to meet business objectives, driving process improvements and automation in procurement.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Mining Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 7–10 years of procurement experience, with at least 4–5 years in the minerals/mining sector.
  • Strong knowledge of mining equipment, spare parts, raw materials, and international trade regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and contract drafting skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management, and MS Office.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
  • Familiarity with safety, statutory compliance, and sustainability practices in mining.
