Job Title:

Maintenance Technician - Manufacturing

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform equipment maintenance and repair, inspection and monitoring, installation and commissioning, electrical and control systems, safety and compliance, and documentation and reporting.

About the Role:

This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and machinery. Key responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance on machinery, troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, repairing or replacing faulty components, and maintaining biomass handling systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment.
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
    • Repair or replace faulty components.
  • Inspection and Monitoring:
    • Regularly inspect machinery and equipment for wear, damage, and performance issues.
    • Monitor performance of critical systems.
    • Identify potential safety or operational issues before they lead to failures.
  • Installation and Commissioning:
    • Assist in the installation of new machinery or upgrades.
    • Support the commissioning process by ensuring all equipment is properly configured and functional.
  • Electrical and Control Systems:
    • Work with electrical panels, PLCs, VFDs, and sensors used in biomass processing.
    • Calibrate and adjust instrumentation for temperature, pressure, and flow rate control.
    • Collaborate with automation engineers for software hardware troubleshooting.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with equipment maintenance and operations.
    • Maintain compliance with regulations related to emissions, noise, and hazardous materials.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
    • Report issues to supervisors and suggest improvements for reliability and efficiency.
    • Use CMMS if available.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with production operators, engineers, and safety officers.
    • Coordinate with external vendors or contractors for specialized repairs or inspections.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in maintenance or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and other maintenance management software.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
