Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled application support specialist to serve as the primary contact for front office and middle office applications in investment banking.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software development lifecycle and ITIL processes, experience with ticketing systems such as Jira, proficiency in troubleshooting Unix/Linux environments, and knowledge of database technologies such as SQL Server.

In addition to technical skills, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and respond promptly to system alerts, incidents, and user-reported issues, investigating and analysing incidents to determine their root causes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to applications, databases, and integrations, coordinating with development teams to implement fixes and enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, solutions, and changes in the production environment, creating and updating support documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in supporting business applications, preferably in AWS.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, providing technical support for enterprise-level software applications.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and ITIL processes, experience with ticketing systems such as Jira, proficiency in troubleshooting Unix/Linux environments, and experience with database technologies such as SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of programming languages scripting languages (Shell, Python etc.) and excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical users.
