Production Operations Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure seamless production operations and job pipeline efficiency by proactively monitoring systems and responding to alerts in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues collaboratively with the development team, applying analytical skills to resolve complex problems.
  • Investigate incidents thoroughly using logs, metrics, and observability tools such as Grafana and Kibana.
  • Perform swift recovery actions like restarting pods, rerunning jobs, or implementing known mitigations to minimize downtime.
  • Effectively operate in Kubernetes environments, inspecting, debugging, and managing components to ensure optimal performance.
  • Support deployment activities through thorough post-release validations and basic checks to guarantee system stability.
  • Validate data quality and flag anomalies to relevant engineering teams for prompt resolution.
  • Maintain clear, detailed documentation of incidents, actions taken, and resolution outcomes for future reference.
  • Communicate effectively with remote teams for operational handoffs and follow-ups, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in production operations, system support, or devops roles, with a strong focus on process improvement and teamwork.
  • Proficiency in Linux navigation, log analysis, and troubleshooting processes/network connectivity.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments, applying technical expertise to optimize system performance.
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Kibana, and Prometheus for effective incident management.
  • English proficiency for reading, writing, and asynchronous communication to facilitate global collaboration.
  • Strong execution discipline and ability to follow structured operational procedures, prioritizing task completion and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scripting ability in Python or Shell for log parsing and automation, enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Basic SQL skills for data verification or debugging, facilitating accurate data-driven decision making.
  • Experience with Hadoop and Flink pipelines for batch and stream processing is a significant advantage, offering opportunities for growth and specialization.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed data systems or job scheduling frameworks, further expanding skillsets and career prospects.
