Job Description

As a Senior Engineer- IP at Ericsson, you will be responsible for managing alarm analysis, operation-maintenance, trouble-shooting, and Change Request Implementation on IP nodes. This includes routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and security gateways. You will also be responsible for trouble ticket analysis and resolution of trouble tickets raised by Customer/L2 Teams. Additionally, you will be responsible for fault management on all routers and switches equipment and follow up with support in case of raised cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively supervise ITSM Ticket queues to maintain MTTR.
  • Use analytical skills like logical thinking, problem-solving, and handling assignments to ensure efficient resolution of incidents.
  • Identify root cause of P2/P3/P4 Incidents and recommend appropriate resolution actions and other events that require Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Be the first point of contact for support of any alarm/event/KPI related issues.
  • Collaborate closely with the Field Team for all field activities, such as hardware failures and node unreachable events.
  • Ensure timely restoration of services and maintain MTTR for good customer experience and high Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Be proactive in detecting possible failures to ensure incident restoration/avoidance whenever engagement by Incident Manager or MS Automated Service Function.
  • Perform node health checks and backups and trouble-shoot deviations identified.
  • Share details for MIR and CSR to respective teams.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of network operations and maintenance.

    Requirements

    • Have good knowledge of IP networking protocols like OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, LDP, L2VPN, L3VPN, and BFD.
    • Understand switching VLAN, STP, RSTP, MSTP, VRRP, and HSRP.
    • Have telecom knowledge of 2G, 3G, 4G service flow and interfaces.
    • Have product/vendor knowledge on Ericsson/Nokia/Cisco/Juniper/Huawei/F5 (at least any two).
    • Possess good communication and trouble-shooting skills.
    • Have 5-10 years of relevant experience in the IP domain.
