Programme Leadership Role

Are you a seasoned professional with expertise in programme design and management?

  • We are seeking an experienced Associate Director – Programmes to lead our philanthropic organisation's programmes portfolio.

This challenging role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of our organisation's impact, driving meaningful change through effective planning, cross-sectoral integration, and outcome-oriented delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing long-term strategies and annual plans for programme themes.
  2. Identifying opportunities for collaboration and innovation to strengthen impact.
  3. Overseeing select programme areas to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
  4. Providing guidance to project teams to enhance operational efficiency and responsiveness.
  5. Engaging with implementing agencies, knowledge partners, and peer organisations to strengthen programme outcomes.
  6. Representing our organisation in external forums as required.
  7. Providing mentoring support to mid-level team members to help them grow into leadership roles.
  8. Encouraging a collaborative culture that values learning and accountability.
  9. Ensuring effective systems for tracking progress, capturing lessons, and adapting strategies.
  10. Supporting preparation of reports, presentations, and knowledge products.
  11. Contributing inputs to budget planning and monitoring utilisation in assigned programme areas.
  12. Ensuring adherence to internal processes and compliance frameworks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in social sciences, development studies, public policy, or a related discipline.
  • At least 12–15 years of relevant experience in programme design, management, or evaluation within the development sector, including experience in leadership roles.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage multi-stakeholder partnerships.
  • Excellent communication and analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and translate plans into results.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural and social contexts.
