Job Title:

Enterprise Messaging Systems Administrator

Description:

As an Enterprise Messaging Systems Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the secure, reliable, and high-performance messaging infrastructure supports enterprise applications and batch processes.

  • MQ Administration: Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ Series and File Transfer Edition (FTE) on the z/OS platform, manage MQ objects including queue managers, queues, channels, and cluster configurations.
  • Monitor MQ performance and availability, applying tuning techniques to optimize throughput and reduce latency.
  • Upgrade Support: Plan and execute upgrades of MQ Series and FTE components on z/OS, perform compatibility checks, regression testing, and rollback planning.
  • Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure minimal disruption during upgrades.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise:
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with IBM MQ on z/OS.
  • Deep understanding of MQ Queue Sharing Groups, FTE configurations, and MQ monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with COBOL, REXX, and other language tools.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in hybrid team environments.
