Job Title: GIS Developer

Work Type: Full-time, Remote Opportunity

The Job:

As a Geographic Information System (GIS) developer, you will design and implement solutions using programming languages such as Python, Java, and TypeScript.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement GIS solutions for optimal performance.
  • Experience with publishing and administering map services using GeoServer and ArcGIS Server is required.
  • Familiarity with open-source GIS software like GeoServer, PostGIS, GDAL, GeoPandas, and GeoSpark is necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize map services for efficient performance.
  • Maintain and administer geodatabases using PostGIS and ArcGIS GeoDBs.
  • Proficiency with web frameworks such as Angular, React, Node.js, and Openlayers is desired.
  • Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL is essential.

Requirements:

  • Experience in hybrid on-premise and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google).
  • Knowledge of technologies such as Google Big Query, Airflow, Elastic Search, Spark, Kafka, Git, Azure DevOps, Terraform, VS Code, and Kubernetes.
  • Able to analyze complex problems, process critical data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Quickly learn and debug large systems in ambiguous situations.
