Job Description:

The VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operations and steady-state reliability of the VCF stack, focusing on vSphere, vSAN, vRealize Operations, and NSX.

Key responsibilities include monitoring, triaging, and resolving incidents; driving problem management and root cause analysis.

  • Routine health checks and remediation across vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and vROps.

The engineer will also perform platform administration tasks, including vSphere cluster management, resource pool management, DRS/HA configuration, vMotion setup, template creation, and VM lifecycle management.

vSAN storage policy management, capacity planning, resync monitoring, and performance troubleshooting are also essential duties.

Additionally, the engineer will work with NSX segments/overlays, T0/T1 gateways, distributed firewall rules, NAT, and basic load balancing concepts.

Furthermore, the engineer will manage vROps/Aria Operations dashboards, alert tuning, capacity/performance analytics, and reporting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on experience with vSphere administration in production.
  • Practical vSAN operations experience and working knowledge of NSXT for day-to-day operations.
  • Experience with vROps/VMware Aria Operations for monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and reporting.
  • Solid understanding of data center networking fundamentals and storage basics.
