About a global leader in driving responsible AI governance and enterprise AI leadership.

This role is part of two nonprofit initiatives - Regulating AI & CAIO Connect - that convene policymakers & Fortune 1000 executives to shape an inclusive, democratic, and innovative AI future.

We are expanding our impact through new flagship initiatives. These initiatives will be rolled out in a phased roadmap, and we are looking for a leader to manage and execute this ambitious portfolio.

Job Overview

The Strategic Initiatives Leader will prioritize, plan, and implement initiatives. This role requires a visionary strategist and a hands-on operator who can manage complex, cross-functional projects, secure partnerships, and ensure timely execution.

This is a high-visibility leadership role, working directly with the executive team, event partners, and sponsors globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management
  • Prioritize initiatives based on impact, ROI, and strategic value.
  • Build and maintain the phased roadmap (0–12m, 12–24m, 24–36m).
  • Monitor progress, risks, and ensure deliverables are on track.
  • Execution & Delivery
  • Lead cross-functional teams and vendors to execute initiatives.
  • Develop and manage budgets, timelines, and KPIs.
  • Ensure initiatives launch on schedule.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with global policymakers, enterprise executives, event organizers, and sponsors.
  • Present progress updates to leadership, sponsors, and partners.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors, agencies, and external collaborators.
  • Sponsorship & Revenue Enablement
  • Support sponsorship strategy by aligning initiatives with partner goals.
  • Ensure deliverables for sponsors are met with excellence.
  • Team Leadership
  • Oversee initiative managers, consultants, and interns.
  • Establish clear goals, dashboards, and reporting systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in program management, strategic initiatives, or operations, ideally in AI, technology policy, or global nonprofits.
  • Proven track record in managing multi-million-dollar programs and complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of AI, governance, and emerging technologies.
  • Exceptional project management skills with ability to juggle multiple initiatives.
  • Experience working with corporate sponsors, government partners, or international organizations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and take ownership of outcomes.
